Auxiliary of the Year Award

 

The Volunteer Program at Corning Hospital has a place for everyone.

 

Our Hospital has a variety of opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds. You may be retired, involved in your career, a stay at home parent, young or old, male or female. Friendly, smiling faces, a caring compassionate manner, and a positive, willing attitude are at the heart of VOLUNTEER SERVICE at Corning Hospital.

 

Our Volunteer Program is a recognized and valued member of the Hospital family and the Guthrie Healthcare System. Through our fundraising activities, we have gifted over $900,000 to Corning Hospital. These monies have been used to enhance and improve the delivery of care to the community we serve. Also, in 2007, for those that record their hours of service, 14,090 hours of volunteer time was donated.

 

As a result of all of our efforts, our Hospital hosts an annual Volunteer Recognition Event and has initiated the Volunteer of the Year Award. In addition, during National Volunteer Week, our Hospital acknowledges our dedication by hosting a special event each day of that week. In December, the hospital treats our Auxiliary Board and Corps Chairpersons (Internal Leadership Volunteers) to a luncheon.

 

Programs and Services

Corning Hospital has two volunteer programs from which to choose:

 

1.) The Auxiliary: The Auxiliary provides selected services and programs and conducts fundraising on behalf of the Hospital.

 

2.) The Volunteer Services Group, Corps: The Corps consists of adult volunteers who make a real difference, whether comforting a sick patient or giving a helping hand to hospital team members. We appreciate our many volunteers and consider them an important part of Corning Hospital.
