What
is Yoga?
Yoga is a scientific, time-tested,
6,000 year old system of self-improvement. The practice of yoga is
designed to increase awareness of the needs of the body and
mind.
Fitness Yoga
Fitness Yoga is comprised of a
series of exercises intended to rejuvenate the body, and to
revitalize aspects of the body, such as the vascular system, the
nervous system, and the musculature.
Yoga is for Everyone
The gentle stretching exercises of
yoga practice are not only very helpful and therapeutic, but also
easy for nearly everyone. Unlike calisthenics or sports which
emphasize stamina and vigorous muscular activity, yoga encourages
gentle progress through stretching exercises that can help improve
flexibility, regardless of age and health. Participants are also
encouraged to proceed through the stretches at their own pace ,
insuring comfortable progress.
Certified, Professional
Instructors
Fitness Yoga at HealthWorks is
taught by a Certified Instructor who guides class participants
through each class series of stretches and breathing
exercises.
Calm The Body ... And The
Mind
Yoga is a wonderful stress
management technique. The gentle stretching and breatheing
exercises of yoga help slow the body and the mind, releasing
physical tension, and relieving the mental stress of our hectic
lives. And, if you have been exercising, yoga is a great way to
begin again.
Let yoga be your path to greater
peace of mind ... and better health!
