Cessation Programs
Wellness services of Corning Hospital and HealthWorks, offers a variety of smoking cessation programs and materials to help you quit smoking and become a comfortable non-smoker.
Smoking Cessation Self-Help Packets
These information packets are available to patients at Corning Hospital, or others in need of information about smoking cessation. They include information about nicotine dependency withdrawal, smoking cessation, and available smoking cessation programs at Corning Hospital.
Please ask your primary care nurse for a packet, or call our hospital's Education Department at 607-937-8024. Smoking Cessation Self-Help Packets are free of charge.
HealthWorks Smoking Cessation Counseling Program
Our "Quit Smart" Program at HealthWorks is a remarkably effective smoking cessation program that reflects the complexity of the smoking habit. It provides instruction in a variety of behavior change techniques, based on sound educational and psychological theory. This method is specifically designed for self-study, with 26 days of behavior modification, relapse prevention and lifestyle management skill development. The series includes three one-on-one counseling sessions with a trained smoking cessation counselor. Call 607-937-4825 for more information about HealthWorks Smoking Cessation Program.
The Healthy Way to Quit Smoking Workshop
This three hour workshop includes information on when, why and how to quit smoking, with tips on healthy eating and exercise.
The workshop can be taught at any worksite location or at our facility ( 5 or more participants required).
The workshop can be followed up with the Self-Help Plus Counseling Program for those who need support through the quitting process. Call 607-937-4825 for more information about the Quit Smoking workshop. (Participant workbook included)
